“The rear sagged a bit and the steering only became a bit light on certain sections of highway with quick dips, even then it was only for a second and not at all something that would make you feel like you were going to lose control of the car. After that first half-hour, when I finally realized that the little motion that was going on back there was all that was going to happen I all but forgot about it! I set the cruise at 75 mph as usual and was home in no time!”
With the Pathfinder and the weight of the carrier we would suggest some helper springs, airbags or air-shocks to level out the ride and get that lost portion of steering back. The Versa-Haul has another interesting feature, you can slide a two inch receiver ball into the trailing end of the carrier, allowing you to tow an additional trailer if you want. The max towing weight, regardless of your vehicle, is 3000 lbs. “We have an F150 at home and we loaded the 4wheeler in the back and put the carrier and the bike on the back of it and the truck didn’t even sag.” Obviously this will be limited to your vehicle and the tow package it has, see the Versa-Haul website for details. The cost of the Versa-Haul as we tested it is about $550.00, weighs around 90 lbs, and can carry up to 500lbs.
